Urban Regeneration and Village Renewal Laboratory

Urban Regeneration and Village Renewal Laboratory prepares spatial development plans and performs analyses of changes in the urban planning and architectural structure of the settlement units investigated. The laboratory is integrated with two other Faculty laboratories: Digital Geography and Geographic Information Systems Laboratory and Econometric and Spatial Model Laboratory.
The laboratory supports scientific design and research work conducted by the staff of the Faculty of Human Geography and Planning. The AUTOCAD and ArcGIS program package makes it possible to perform studio, diagnostic, forecasting and planning work as well as architectural studies within spatial planning. Graphic programs allow effective visualization of socio-economic and spatial developments.
In addition, the laboratory is also used as an auxiliary tool for implementing selected issues examined as part of master theses. It also helps prepare didactic materials in the subjects of: Urban Design, Urban Planning Studio, Spatial Planning, Formation of Urbanized Spaces, and Public Space taught at the major of Spatial Management and Geography.
The laboratory makes it possible to carry out scientific and development research in which use is made of tools that allow processing and analyzing enormous amounts of data, particularly spatial ones. Professional equipment and software are employed to help solve spatial management problems, primarily those related to cadastre, spatial order organization, investment processes service, real estate management, municipal management or environment protection. As we all know, taking coordinated decisions in various, intersecting fields of spatial management is not feasible without analyzing their mutual relations. The laboratory allows making multivariate spatial analyses, studies and projects.
The laboratory is supplied with hardware and large tables, which contributes to the comfort of project work. The size of the room, furniture (also its mobility), software (graphics, text editors) make it possible to run workshops, seminars and meetings.
